I find that being highly sensitive comes with gifts that are rare and personal to each sensitive person.
For example, I have a gift to create extremely niche content. I wrote a book with fiction stories, explaining healthcare research. I created Expressive Sensitive, a space, especially for sensitive hearts that like to or wish to be creative. They are one of a kind!
Like me, many others reading this post could have unique gifts. One could have gifts that could be artistically unique. I recently met someone that uses ink made of seeds and flowers to create abstract art.
So, dear highly sensitive soul, what is your unique artistic gift?
When I began painting, I started creating art that only I understood. A part of me knows that it was difficult to do that, given the pressure to be a good painter. However, I couldn't help but hear myself. I couldn't help but listen to the voice that told me to stick to creating abstract art.
So, dear highly sensitive soul, if you were given the freedom to not be a good painter, what would you create?
I come across a lot people who feel that I am prideful for embracing my highly sensitive artistic gifts. Whether it is my high sensitivity or abstract art-making skills, I do take a lot of pride in them. It's not because I feel superior but because I respect my gifts.
Unfortunately, we live in a world with some shallow people. Some people would pull one down for being highly sensitive, uniquely gifted, or having a unique artistic voice.
To them, we must say, yes, we are sensitive and can paint.
I do want to acknowledge that it is difficult to hear your inner voice and to consistently follow it. However, if you need help with creative guidance, you can find it in Expressive Sensitive :).
