Trust.Paint.Move
Trusting art during periods of overwhelm

When I first finished my painting, I thought to myself, 'no! This cannot be considered as abstract art. It is too abstracty.'

Then, I asked my heart, and I felt a supportive, friendly energy in my heart center.

These strokes represent my feelings of passion and aspects of me that I am still discovering. I know that these colors and strokes have contributed to my healing in some way.

Often, as highly sensitive individuals, one maybe going through overwhelm in many areas or even experiencing physical/emotional/soul-level pain.

Sometimes, there maybe desperation to heal or for things to be moving forward. I have felt such experiences in my body, as if, there was a wall close to me that doesn't want to move its position.

Then, I pick up the brush and paint a little. The wall I felt before may or may not break but the overwhelm within me shifts.

That is a big win, especially because the overwhelm would feel too much to take on before I paint. If you are an HSP, you will know what I exactly mean when I say, 'the problem did not move, however, the power it had on me did move'.

I am grateful for this piece of artwork that came from within me, as it made me realize that I am more powerful than my problems.
