Texture white, neon colors, and processing 'tucked under the carpet' emotions

Abstract art can help process various emotions. Sometimes, it helps process unidentified emotions too.

When I paint to process a situation in my life, I find that due to my vulnerability, my emotions attached to said situation automatically come up.

It then gets easier to process those emotions through my abstract art practices and intuition.

Regardless, often, highly sensitive people can absorb emotions and store emotions. It can be helpful to utilize abstract art to paint emotions that we can unconsciously tuck under a carpet.

Something that I do during severe emotional distress is to utilize texture white. Texture white is a thick white paste that could be a substitute for white paint. It is generally used to build thickness in artworks, paints, or for abstract strokes.

Texture white works best for me when I have a lot to express, but I cannot connect to my creative radar. When I use it during such times, my brain immediately goes, 'hello!'. Soon after applying the texture white to my canvas, I feel the difference in the emotional chitter-chatter. It is usually lesser than before I would use texture white.

Recently, I experimented with neon colors. I found that I was able to uncover parts of my personality by processing emotions that could have been hiding them. For example, here, neon orange and pink represent my sassy and funky personality traits. I am not sure as to which emotions I processed to discover my funky and sassy parts. That's probably the beauty of abstract art. You don't have to know about every emotion that is processed to discover parts of you.

To other highly sensitive people, some other type of paint or color might help in processing emotions. The trick is to identify what works for you, dear highly sensitive person.

My support kit includes abstract art, texture white, neon colors, the Expressive Sensitive blog, and being highly sensitive.
