Painting without training wheels

Updated: Feb 2, 2024

This artwork is a dedication to the part of me that was trying to reconnect with art after some guests left my home.

It is challenging to share a home with people whose energies are new to me. It is almost like riding a cycle without training wheels for the first time.

It is a wobbly experience.

I was traveling and spending a lot of time with my guests; hence, I was not able to paint for a few days.

When I picked up my brush after a week, I felt like I was on the cycle without the training wheels again. I was asking myself a question, 'I know that I have to paint, but how do I do that?'

Regardless of the initial resistance, I was able to create this beautiful abstract artwork. I love the colors and the way they complement each other. This art session made my eyes feel soothed, and I was able to feel a sense of relief.

Trust me when I say this, abstract art can make one bounce back to their usual self quickly.

Would you like to see the impact abstract art can have on your sensitivities or challenges? If so, I welcome you to take a trial session with me.

Also, if you have guests at home, I suggest highly sensitive people (HSPs) to try working with abstract art. There is no harm in trying :).

I am excited to share that I am preparing for a solo art exhibition. I would have not believed it if someone told me that I would be showcasing my art professionally in my late 20s. Yet, here I am, running around to find bubble wrap sheets for my paintings.
