Dear highly sensitive person (HSP),
I am going to share a vulnerable post today. I have been under high levels of stimulation in the past few weeks. I was using gadgets for long periods, and I went overboard with listening to music. I also stopped exercising.
'This is important, that is important, and work is more important.'
Thoughts like these would not let me take a break.
I continued painting but even in those hours, I was busy video-shooting my art-making process (stimulation again). It is sometimes best to do less. This morning, I woke up feeling drained.
I even felt low motivation to write my weekly post here, which I usually love doing! So, this morning, I took out a painting sheet and decided to paint all my emotions, feelings, and thoughts. I painted until all the tubes were empty.
I wanted to hear myself out. So, I utilized every last bit of the paint to express myself.
Once I finished, something changed for me.
Yesterday, I planned to write a post about all the tools I tried before choosing abstract art to manage my stimulation. After processing my emotions, I decided to be vulnerable today, especially with myself.
My art session made me respect my vulnerability some more. It made me understand what was truly important :). I had another life-changing HSP experience that impacted my decision-making.
Isn't it magical?
