I've had my battles with sleepless nights, especially if I am stressed about something important.
Yesterday was one of those days.
My nervous system couldn't get the rest it required through sound sleep.
So, this morning, when I woke up, I painted till I could feel my exhaustion fade away.
At one point, I was so relaxed that I slept off for a few minutes during my painting session.
The advantage of being highly sensitive is that one can be sensitive to the changes caused by art in our body and mind. Abstract art affects my nervous system; it can change the energy in my body.
As a Reiki self-healer, I understand energy. Our energy body is a part of our health. In my experience, abstract art affects the energy body.
Full disclosure: I am not mentioning this as a scientific fact, and I am mentioning it based only on my observations.
The change in energy displays a change in my nervous system. This change could also affect my emotional health. It can make me happy, relaxed, and emotionally vulnerable (in a good way :) ).
I don't think I could have done without my abstract art skills and resilience to process my exhaustion.
It is tough to push oneself daily and commit to one's health.
But what happens when the commitment is with colors, brushes, and yourself?
It becomes an artistic commitment!
Dear highly sensitive reader, wouldn't you want to have an artistic commitment to yourself?
