Recently, I went to an art workshop where we were to choose nine words that best described the changes I wanted to make in my life. For example, I wanted to transform the stressors in my life into social connections, joy, healing, friendship, flow, self-love, positive self-talk, satisfaction, and meaningful conversations.
We were to paint the words.
It was relaxing because I could use abstract shapes, colors, and lines to express these words.
It was a heart opening activity for me. As highly sensitive people (HSPs), sometimes it is challenging to express our day-to-day experiences with the world. In such times, I do find it easier to paint the words that remain unexpressed.
So, here is an abstract art inspired by how my future will be (this is me being an optimist):
Yes, to me this painting represents qualities I would like to imbibe a life that will be a joyous life filled with social connections, meaningful conversations, and friendships. This painting represents a futuristic life in which I am going with the flow, using positive self-talk and a self-loving attitude.
How is that for an HSP bucket list?
I am curious, what comes up for you when you see this painting? Are there particular words that come up for you?
Let me know.
xoxo

As a trained artist I would title the related painting; ‘Shower at dusk’. I wish I was a fully trained art therapist as then I could appreciate the piece even more profoundly.
