In the West, there is an increasing tendency for people to have a support animal for improving their overall health.
I've always found that to be extremely useful, as animals can improve one's health and well-being.
However, in developing countries, it is uncommon to have a government- or hospital-issued support animal.
When I think about this situation, I consider art as a possible solution.
In my opinion, art could be a support-friend.
Art has definitely been my support-friend in the recent years.
Art cannot comfort us physically or give us company like an animal. However, it can help us feel comforted and understand ourselves in a better manner.
There have been times when I wanted to cuddle a dog to feel more comforted. When I couldn't, I turned to my artworks. They made me feel more in sync with my inner coach. You know, the one that yells, 'you got this!' (especially, during moments of fear and doubt).
Is there any artwork that has comforted you or given you hope?
Here is my painting that makes me feel comforted and hopeful:
